Spilling The Tea On Burnout
In our very first episode, we unpack the meaning behind the creation of this podcast, the title “You Are Not the Problem”, and why this idea sits at the heart of everything we do. People are often harmed by others or by the systems they live and work in, yet walk away believing the harm is their fault. This episode is about naming that pattern, understanding how it happens, and beginning to loosen the grip of shame and self-blame.
You are not broken. You are not crazy. You are responding exactly as your body was designed to, in a world that profits from your disconnection.
This podcast dismantles the myths of the healing industrial complex and dives into the collective unconscious that keeps us stuck in cycles of shame, burnout, and self-blame. We explore how trauma lives in systems, and how rediscovering your intuition, body, and community can become a radical act of resistance. Because maybe it’s not you that needs fixing – maybe it’s the world.
Leadership burnout is real
And it doesn’t just affect you; it impacts your entire team.
When leaders are stretched too thin, decision-making suffers, motivation drops, and workplace culture is negatively impacted.
There is a sleep crisis.
When I worked as a staff nurse, one of my clues that life needed to change was that I was ALWAYS chasing MORE energy. I only had enough to just survive and barely function, but I was not living. Frequently, I would wake up more tired than when I went to sleep. But I didn’t understand why. Now I do.
Understand the nuances of your burnout symptoms to gain clarity on the tools that will be most effective for you.
Whether it's home, work or the world, chaos feels like it's in every facet of life. This can make you feel like you're spiraling, as if you've internalized all the chaos. Leaving you feeling angry, depressed and overcome with grief (we are complex creatures and can hold many emotions at once). When you are already hanging on by a thread, it adds and increases the overwhelm you may already live in daily. How can you begin, or continue, to function?
Let’s be real—how often do you actually take a bathroom break when you need one? If you’re like most nurses, you’ve mastered the art of holding it, chugging coffee, maybe avoiding water, and eating whatever snack you can grab between call lights. But while you’re busy taking care of everyone else, your pelvic floor might be struggling.
Urinary retention, leaking, constipation—these are common among nurses, but they’re rarely talked about. The good news? Small shifts in your routine can make a big difference. Let’s break it all down.
In today's healthcare landscape, burnout among nurses, especially those in midlife, has reached critical levels. Long hours, emotional strain, and the challenges of balancing work with personal life have left many feeling exhausted and disconnected from their passion for caregiving. As a doctor of Ayurveda (pronounced Eye-your-vey-duh) specializing in women's health, I've seen so many nurses struggling with burnout. Their stories of chronic stress, compassion fatigue, and a sense of hopelessness have motivated me to share how this ancient holistic system can offer a fresh perspective on managing stress and restoring balance.
February is the month of love, passion and compassion. Do you feel these emotions for yourself as much as yo do for others? Or do you feel like you have nothing else to give?
